International Dressage Rider & Coach

Sally Walker

North Yorkshire/North East Region

Sally Walker is an accomplished International Dressage Rider, currently competing at Small Tour level (Prix St. Georges and Inter I). She is now on an exciting journey to further establish herself at Grand Prix level with her two standout horses, Wilton and Blaze, both of whom she broke and trained herself.  Sally’s aim is to achieve an International Grand Prix qualifying score.

Sally’s equestrian career is built on a foundation of resilience and physicality, honed during her time as a firefighter—a role that shaped her understanding of movement, posture, and the importance of balance.

Her early riding years were rooted in eventing and showjumping, but she soon discovered her passion for dressage with Wilton. Sally’s dedication to the sport has led her to achieve significant milestones, including an Inter I victory at the Petplan Championships.  Sally also competed at CDI’s (International competitions) with Wilton, which is an incredible achievement for a horse that is not typical of a dressage bred horse.  Wilton was regularly positioned in the Top 15, qualifying for the music section.

Based near Stokesley in North Yorkshire, Sally runs a professional training yard equipped with top-class facilities, including a 20x60m surfaced and mirrored arena, a viewing area, and stunning views of the North Yorkshire Moors. She offers 1-1 or group coaching for riders of all levels and disciplines, whether at her yard or Sally will happily travel within a 20-30 mile radius.

Sally has been a strong advocate of Equiseat Aid since discovering it two years ago through her long-standing friendship with its founder, Vickie Dennis. She credits Equiseat Aid with improving her balance, posture, and straightness in the saddle—transformations that have also positively influenced her horses' way of going.

As our North East Area Specialist, Sally is passionate about helping riders experience the benefits of Equiseat Aid firsthand. Her coaching integrates its use, supporting riders of all abilities to enhance their skills and achieve their goals.
